Do You Need a Visa to Enter Thailand?
Visitors from 93 countries under the Visa Exemption List are not required to obtain a Thai visa in order to travel to Thailand for tourism purposes. The Thai Immigration Bureau will allow foreigners to stay in Thailand for 60 days visa free. If your country is not part of the visa exemption scheme and you want to visit the Kingdom of Thailand as a tourist, please know that the normal 60-day Tourist Visa is available at the Thai Embassy in your home country and it is relatively easy to get.

BREAKING NEWS - Effective July 15th 2024

Thailand’s visa exemption scheme has expanded, now allowing foreigners from 93 countries to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days visa free. To make it clear, this is not a visa but an exemption from needing one. If your country is part of the scheme, you will receive a stamp upon arrival, permitting you to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days.
Updates effective July 15th 2024 are:
- Increase in countries eligible for Visa on Arrival
- 1 year extension of stay available for student on ED visa upon graduation
- New Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
